Public Record-Complaint filed with Oregon State Bar

"On Dec. 1, 2005 I released Edward J. Hill as my attorney, he was representing me on

my Social Security Disability Claim. I have since hired Northwest Disability Advocates as my Attorney

to represent me.  Mr. Retired Lawyer has asked Mr. Hill for my records so he could continue

my claim. Mr. Hill has continued to hold my records, (for which I have paid for) and

has harassed Mr. Retired Lawyer and has talked to other Attorney's about him and has contacted

The Willamette Week newspaper about Mr. Retired Lawyer.

Mr. Hill has been unresponsive about my claim.

He had me apply in April 2003 for Social Security and had helped me through 2 denials. The third step was

to appeal for a hearing and appeals date. I called him about appealing and he said that is

what we will do, well on May 22nd I called him because we only had 2 days before my

appeal date would expire, and left a voice mail for him. Mr. Hill called me back 2 days

later and said he was lost on what I was talking about and after refreshing his memory

and telling him that it was the last day to file for an appeal. Mr. Hill panicked and had me

come from my home in east county to his office at 1826 NE Multnomah in Portland, Or.

I came in signed some papers and he also signed saying he he was my attorney, and

then sent me to the Social Security office in SE Portland, which I had to wait for about an

hour before handing my appeal in, which I made by 45 minutes. Social Security gives you

65 days to appeal a claim this was my 65th day.

That was May 24th 2004. I had since called Mr. Hill several times only to get his voice mail and left messages but got no

response about my claim.

I called again in Sept. 2005 and got his paralegal **** **** on

Sept. 12th 2005 and asked her what the status of my claim. Her response was that she did

not know anything about my case, so she went and got my files and said that I had not

signed any retainer papers that she would check on my claim and that she will send the

retainer papers out to sign. She called back the next day to tell me that my claim was in

the next group to be worked on and that it would be a very short time now. I waited about

8 weeks and still nothing so I called her again and asked her if we could check on it or

expedite my claim and she said all I could do is wait, so I waited another month and

called her back and got a voice mail and I left a message to call me back ASAP and I

never heard from her again.

That is when I decided that in my best interest to find another

attorney to represent me. Mr. Hill has refused twice to give up my records and continues to

hold up my case, and has been abusive to Mr. Northwest Disability Advocates .   Mr. Northwest Disability Advocates has been in contact

with me more in the last 2 weeks than Mr. Hill has in the last 2 years, but cannot go any

further until Mr. Hill gives up my records.

Thank you,

DB: I'm sorry, I didn't hear you.
Hill: "I got your, yeah, ok DB but here's the deal. I've talked to the Social Security Administration about how you poached **** *** from me and what was interesting to learn is that they are on to your game. So no more form letters to me ok?

Usually when people steal my clients they call me first to say, ya know, they've had a conversation with one of my clients.

Now you've got yourself an enemy.

And I'm an angry enemy and I'm an aggressive one DB.

This is not the last time that you have heard from me. Ok. See ya."
