How to get copies of complaints
filed against Oregon Attorneys.
Here are the Rules that Oregon attorneys are supposed to follow.  Did yours?  Did the Oregon State Bar hold that attorney to his or her responsibility or sweep your complaint under the rug?

According to the Oregon Bar, 1500 complaints are filed against Oregon's 13,000 attorneys annually.  Only a miniscule fraction end up for the public to review because the attorney suffers public discipline. 

Here is an index of complaints filed by Oregon citizens against Oregon attorneys.  They may or may not ever be acted upon by the Oregon State Bar or may be swept under the rug.

Review an Oregon Attorney's file and get a copy

Call the Oregon State Bar (503) 620 0222  1 (800) 452 8260 and request "review of an attorney's public file."  For a small fee, the Oregon State Bar must give you a copy of all the complaints against an attorney licensed by the Oregon State Bar.  It is a public record and it is your right to inspect it and to get a copy.

Search the attorney's name to get a list of complaints against him or her.  Go to the first page of this website for the search box.

  After you file a complaint with the Oregon State Bar, give us a copy, with the State Bar's "Received" stamp on it and we'll publish your complaint right here.  Send one of the original stamped copies to me and I will post your privileged, public record  (see Ramstead v. Morgan 219 Or 383, 347 P2d 594, 598 (1959) complaint on Oregon State Bar Reporter (not affiliated with the Oregon State Bar) e mail for my address
